Botswana gained independence from Britain on 30 September 1966 and is marking six decades of independence with celebrations across the country.

For African Pride, Botswana has long been a firm favourite, forming an important part of its tailor-made Africa programme. Its exceptional wildlife, varied landscapes and distinctive safari experiences make it a destination the team continues to recommend to customers looking for a truly memorable safari.

The Okavango Delta is at the heart of many Botswana itineraries, with its waterways offering the chance to experience the wilderness by mokoro, boat and on foot, alongside traditional game drives. Elsewhere, Chobe and Savuti offer a different safari experience, while the Makgadikgadi Pans and Central Kalahari showcase Botswana’s diverse landscapes.

African Pride’s Botswana programme includes the 11-night Botswana Explorer, the 14-night Classic Botswana & Victoria Falls, combining Botswana’s safari highlights with time in Zimbabwe, and the Botswana Adventure Safari, a small-group mobile safari through key wildlife areas. Agents can also access Botswana guides and selling resources through the African Pride Agents Portal.

Liz Hall, Product Manager at African Pride, said: “Botswana is one of those destinations that never loses its appeal. There is so much variety, with each region offering a different experience and so many ways to explore the country. Our first-hand knowledge means we can recommend the right places and experiences to create a Botswana journey that really suits each customer.”

African Pride’s specialist team can tailor Botswana holidays around individual interests, budgets and travel styles, with a choice of safari camps, lodges and mobile safari experiences. Botswana can be visited as a standalone safari destination or combined with Victoria Falls, South Africa, Zambia or Namibia.
