During her visit on Friday 21st November, Priti Patel donated a bag full of toys, gifts and games that will help local children and families within the Witham community who otherwise could go without this Christmas.
Vaycay Luxury Travel launched their first Christmas campaign last month with a goal to bring smiles to the faces of local families who need an extra helping hand throughout the festive season.
Their campaign is in partnership with Home-Start Essex, an Essex-based charity that provides vital support sessions to parents and children free of charge, including family support groups, SEND groups, baby massage, wellbeing and behaviour support.
The toys donated by Priti Patel will go directly to children in the Witham area, helping to ensure that they have something special to open on Christmas Day.
Speaking during her visit, she said: “Home-Start Essex is an organisation that is quite personal and close to my heart. They help families and children when they need a little bit of extra care and support.
"I’ve supported them since I became MP for Witham and I’ve donated to them myself because there are families, not just in Witham but the surrounding areas too, who need that extra support like donating items for small babies and children to bring them some joy at Christmas.
“Vaycay Luxury Travel’s partnership with Home-Start Essex will put smiles on the faces of hundreds of children and that’s a wonderful thing to be associated with."
Jackie Creak, from Home-Start Essex’s Fundraising, Marketing and Events Team, added: “We had a fantastic morning at Vaycay Luxury Travel and meeting Priti Patel was wonderful. We are amazed at the incredible gift donations. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.”
Vaycay Luxury Travel are accepting donations until Friday 6th December with all donations receiving a raffle ticket entry into a prize draw for a £150 Christmas hamper as a thank you for supporting the campaign.
