Spring Hotels has seen the trend become increasingly apparent across its six-hotel portfolio in south Tenerife during 2026, with guests looking for more opportunities to switch off, spend time outdoors and enjoy their holiday without planning every hour of the day.
The hotel group has dubbed the trend “The Spring Feeling”, reflecting a move towards simpler holiday experiences built around long breakfasts, afternoons by the pool, leisurely dinners, live music and time spent with family and friends.
The shift reflects wider travel trends, with ABTA reporting 90% of 25 to 34-year-olds believe holidays are important for their mental wellbeing, compared with 80% of UK adults overall.
British Airways has also identified growing demand for slower travel, with almost one in five UK travellers saying they ignore the clock entirely on holiday, choosing to eat, sleep and explore whenever they choose.
Jo Robinson, Chief Sales Officer at Spring Hotels, said: “Guests still want to enjoy themselves, explore and make the most of their holiday, but there's definitely been a shift in what that looks like. More people are telling us they simply want to switch off. They're less interested in sticking to a schedule and more interested in feeling better than when they arrived.”
Spring Hotels said it has focused on giving guests greater freedom over how they spend their days across its Tenerife properties.
One example is Beats & Brunch at Spring Hotel Vulcano, where guests can have brunch until midday accompanied by live DJs, removing the need to set an alarm to make a traditional hotel breakfast sitting.
The experience was not created specifically as a wellness product but, according to Spring Hotels, reflects the growing demand for holidays that feel less structured and more relaxed.
