"Designing the right type of holiday for demanding clients in a fast-moving world remains challenging for anyone"

Under the theme of Luxury Travel: Change and Challenge, the event will see a range of speakers bring their perspectives to the luxury travel landscape.

Now in its ninth year, the event will take place at The Roof Gardens in London on October 18 and is aimed at professionals in the sector and those new to luxury or wanting to expand their reach in the field.

“Providing the right kind of products and services, marketing in the most effective way and designing the right type of holiday for demanding clients in a fast-moving world remains challenging for anyone in the luxury sector,” said April Hutchinson, editor of ttgluxury. “We hope to present sessions that will help our audience relish, rather than fear, these challenges.”

According to the Wealth-X World Ultra Wealth Report 2017, the world’s ultra wealthy (net worth of $30 million or more) still grew by 3.5% to 226,450 individuals in 2016, despite a year of political and economic uncertainty, and by 2021 the number in this segment is predicted by Wealth-X to rise to 299,000.

Among the speakers and companies taking part are digital and marketing specialists including Sebastian Fallert, managing director UK at Secret Escapes, and Barbara Muckermann, chief marketing officer with Silversea, who will offer their take on customer marketing and trends in their sector. Eco travel expert and co-founder of Bouteco, Holly Tuppen, will also discuss the growing trend of sustainable travel.

With the growing importance of influencers in social media, Cream, a boutique media and marketing agency specialising in premium brands, will explore this phenomenon.

The event will be held in partnership with Sun Resorts as headline sponsor, with the hotelier about to relaunch its Long Beach property in Mauritius, having also successfully relaunched Kanuhura in the Maldives last year.

“As a leading Indian Ocean resort operator, Sun Resorts is delighted to be part of this year’s ttgluxury Seminar in London, as well as Luxpo. This highly acclaimed and well-respected workshop is an ideal platform for us to meet our most important and valuable travel partners,” said Jean-Pierre Bosquet, director sales and marketing UK, Ireland, Scandinavia & North America, Sun Resorts.

The event takes place at the Roof Gardens from 8.30am-12.30pm. Advance-booking tickets are available for the seminar for £99 (plus VAT) and can be purchased from today until September 15. After that date, tickets will cost £149 each.
