There is now space on the fundraising day for additional 10 teams – with four people per team – giving more people the opportunity to get involved and raise money LifeLine.

The golf day will be held at Crondon Park Golf Club on 18 June 2024. The fun-filled day will include breakfast, an awards presentation, charity auction and BBQ.

The tournament is open to everyone in the travel industry, whether a golf novice just starting out, or a seasoned-pro aiming for the PGA, all levels are welcome to tee-off for a good cause. The tournament will be in a Texas Scramble*format, played in teams of four.

LifeLine is also offering sponsorship opportunities including a headline sponsor, catering and the chances to sponsor one of 18 holes along the course, all available at highly competitive rates.

ABTA LifeLine Director, Trudie Clements said:

“We have been blown away by the huge demand and support for LifeLine’s first ever golf day, and it is with great pleasure to announce further team places to allow more of our industry colleagues to get involved and help raise those all-important funds to support people in need across the sector.

“The money raised from the events goes directly into the work supporting our industry colleagues who are going through hard times. We hear time and time again from the people the charity helps that it really is a lifeline at their time of need.”

Further information on how to enter a team, come as a supporter or enquire about sponsorship can be found at ABTA Lifeline’s website.

What is Texas Scramble?

All members of the team get the chance to hit every shot. After all have teed off, the team decides which drive is the best. From there, all members of the team place their golf balls where the chosen drive ended up, with all members playing a second shot from this spot.

From these second shots, one is chosen and all play a third shot from there - and so on until the ball is holed. Each team returns one score for each hole and the team with the lowest score for the round wins.
