Earlier this month, The Inspire Group completed a sponsored fund-raising bike ride, raising over £7.5k for the Family Fund charity.
Richard Buxton, Inspire’s Finance Director, led the team of eleven cyclists, made up of colleagues and friends of Inspire, to complete the 131-mile sponsored cycle from Keswick in the Lake District to the company’s HQ in Bramhall, Cheshire.
Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled and seriously ill children and young people. Inspire has been supporting the charity since 2013 and in 2022 helped the charity deliver 150,000 grants.
Buxton said: “This is the second year we’ve hosted this event to raise funds and help support Family Fund, who do such an outstanding job of looking after families taking care of seriously ill or disabled children. It was a tougher cycle this year due to warmer weather, but the camaraderie and high spirits of the cycling team made it a really fun event and one we hope to repeat every year.”
Gill Bell, Events and Community Fundraiser, Family Fund, added: “Inspire is a highly valued partner of Family Fund and Richard has once again gone and above and beyond with this sponsored cycle. The funds raised are hugely appreciated by the charity, and the cycling team should be really proud of their achievements.”
The cycle took place on Friday 17th May 2024, and the cyclists included: Richard Buxton, Danny Schweiger, Mark Schweiger, Alan Hodari, Harvey Kaye, Nick Groombridge, Paul Morris, Sam Marland, Toby Williams, Joe Lunt, Michael Ozon and Martin Girdwood.
