Cheapflights has promoted marketing director Andrew Shelton to be its managing director and made Sarah Hanan commercial director.
Shelton, who joined the company in October 2014 from Virgin Holidays where he was also marketing director, will now combine his new role with his marketing responsibilities.
He will report to Hugo Burge, the chief executive of the Momondo Group which owns Cheapflights, who will now be able to dedicate more time to running the group.
Shelton said: “I’m extremely excited to be leading the team at Cheapflights.
“There is massive potential in this business in the UK and across our overseas markets, and the last year has seen us establish some firm but exciting foundations on which to build.
“The digital travel sector offers an exciting global opportunity and I can’t wait to work with the talented team we have here to take on the challenge in this fast moving market.
“The strength of our brand gives us a huge advantage, and we’ll be looking to build on that by continuing our legacy of pioneering product developments and innovative commercial partnerships.”
Burge added: “Since he joined our team, Andrew has helped us to position Cheapflights for its next period of growth.
“He brings with him a terrific combination of deep marketing expertise, commercial acumen, leadership ability and vision that we’re looking for.
“Having recently transitioned our UK site to user friendly meta and evolved our highly rated global apps, we have ambitious global plans – and are confident that he’s the best person to lead the team to achieve that.”
Meanwhile, Hanan, who has been with the company for 12 years, has taken the new role which will see her develop and implement strategies to grow global revenue.
She will also be tasked with handling the ongoing expansion of the Cheapflights deals publishing business, the company’s growing presence in the US market and working closely with the Momondo meta sales team.
Hanan said: “We have fantastic relationships with nearly 100 commercial partners in the travel industry, from big names to specialists.
“With our new meta site in the UK, combined with our leading deals publishing platform, we can offer something truly different to them.”
