From its launch at the end of 2021, leveraging the more than 50 years’ experience in selling travel from parent Cyplon Holidays, Travelosophers has been moving the dial. With an initial focus on tempting travel agents forced to leave the industry during the pandemic into the benefits of being a home-based travel consultant, Travelosophers has not wavered in continually developing their offering to delight both their agent teams and customers alike.
New for 2024 was the agency’s customer portal, where customers can now log in and see their bookings whenever they wish, easing the amount of calls homeworkers get to check payments and timing so they can focus on their customer service and business expertise. Homeworkers can now package their own holidays for more efficiency, and enhancements to a new online quoting system, which allows agents to personalise quotes for their customers, are already under way following agent feedback.
Thanks to Travelosophers’ encouragement of the power of being “seen”, don’t be surprised if you find a Travelosophers homeworker busy with their customer enquiries in one of your local cafes or restaurants, or even in a pop-up shop that may have suddenly sprouted in other local businesses or fairs. But it’s more than selling holidays that connects these agents to their communities, and the agency boasts an impressive roll call of Travelsopher agents supporting local causes, including the Emily Ash Cancer Trust, a sailors’ children’s charity and the sponsorship of cricket matches held for underprivileged children. Travelsophers themselves sponsor a girls’ football team in Cheshire’s Holmes Chapel.
Travelosopher agents are continuously well-trained, with sessions held by the agency every two weeks that also involve supplier partners to increase product knowledge, while events are held across the UK throughout the year to grow knowledge and connections. And motivation is not in short supply, with 12 top-selling agents awarded the opportunity to go on the coveted “top sellers’ trip” every year. Head office staff are not forgotten at this burgeoning agency though, with care packages delivering cakes, bath bombs, tea bags or seasonal treats, and they are also invited to top sellers trips and the agency’s two annual conferences.
