Austrian Airlines has launched flights from Birmingham to Vienna, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The services will increase to daily from summer 2020, with onward connections to Asia available.
Cardiff airport has installed electric vehicle charging points, the first steps in a bid to become carbon neutral.
