Cable, who spent 18 years in Whitehall – including a spell as leader of the Liberal Democrats – will offer delegates his views on Britain’s political predicament and how Brexit may impact the travel industry.
Joining Cable at the conference, which is scheduled to take place from November 23-28, will be award-winning sailor Tracy Edwards MBE, who in 1989 skippered the first all-female crew in the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race.
More speakers are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
This year’s event will carry the theme of “Reality versus Perception”, featuring one day of business sessions held at the Movenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea, near Amman.
During the conference delegates will have the opportunity to visit Petra, the Roman city of Jerash and the Wadi Rum desert.
The event will be sponsored by the Jordan Tourism Board and Royal Jordanian Airlines.
