ITT chairman Steven Freudmann announced the location for next year’s event at ITT @ The Dorchester last week. It will be held at the Hilton Giardini Naxos from June 4-6 next year.
Freudmann told TTG that Longman was among a host of big names to be confirmed for the conference.
This year’s saw former chancellor George Osborne – now editor of the London Evening Standard – as headline speaker, with MSC Cruises’ Pierfrancesco Vago also making a keynote address.
“We have some major speakers still to announce; as usual, there will be a very high-profile political figure,” said Freudmann.
ITT will take over the entire hotel, which has its own conference centre, for the event. The property is around 40 minutes from Catania airport and about 10 minutes south of the historic town of Taormina, which it overlooks.
“I have been there twice and it is stunning,” said Freudmann. “Taormina was where the G7 summit was held earlier this year, and if it is good enough for Trump, Macron and Merkel, it is good enough for ITT.”
Freudmann said the decision to return to Italy followed strong praise for last year’s event in Sorrento. “It broke all records in terms of satisfaction. It’s also clear that most delegates prefer short-haul destinations that require less time out of the office,” he said.
The event will be limited to 400 ITT members and their companions. An early registration fee of £535 is available until December 31 with a companion rate of £285. There is also a £200 rate for retired members wishing to attend. Single occupancy rooms are available from €155 per room per night on a B&B basis, with double occupancy rooms from €175.
British Airways is offering ITT delegates a 20% discount on return airfares from UK airports to Catania if booked by November 20. After this date, a 10% discount will be available at the applicable fare. These preferential rates are valid for travel between May 31 and June 10, 2018.
Comedian Jason Manford will provide the entertainment during the event’s gala dinner, which will be sponsored by MSC Cruises.
