EasyJet boss Carolyn McCall is reported to have emerged as the leading candidate to become the new chief executive of ITV.
A spokesperson for the low-cost carrier told TTG “we do not have any comment to make” on the speculation that McCall was believed to have been interviewed for the role to succeed current boss Adam Crozier, as reported by the Guardian.
A spokesperson for the channel declined to comment on the rumours to the newspaper last night.
ITV may announce Crozier’s successor this week ahead of the broadcaster’s interim results due to be released later this month, the Guardian reports.
Other executives on ITV’s shortlist, according to the newspaper, are Paul Geddes, chief executive of Direct Line and Rob Woodward, the outgoing chief executive of STV, which holds the ITV franchise for Scotland.
McCall joined easyJet in 2010 and was previously chief executive of Guardian Media Group, owner of the Guardian and the Observer newspapers.
