P&O Cruises has changed its alcohol allowance for embarking passengers, meaning they can now bring only up to one litre of wine or champagne onboard – and no beer or spirits.
Previously, guests could also bring beer or spirits on to P&O Cruises ships, but as of 7 May, this policy has been amended. The new onboard alcohol allowance applies to all passengers aged 18 and over, or those who are 21 and older in US ports embarking the ship for the first time.
A P&O Cruises spokesperson said: “We regularly review our policies in line with the cruise industry and we are making the change to adhere more closely to our health, environment, safety and security guidelines around our responsibility to serve alcohol.”
