Hurtigruten has promoted Anthony Daniels to lead its UK operations as general manager as part of a restructure.
Daniels, who joined the adventure travel brand in 2015 and who was previously UK head of sales, takes up the newly created position following the departure of UK and EMEA managing director Magnus Zetterberg.
The restructure of Hurtigruten’s UK and EMEA management team also sees the creation of a sales position to lead the updated sales area of Europe, into which the UK, Nordics and EMEA will report.
Daniels, along with the head of sales from each European market, will report into the new sales area which will be lead by vice-president of sales Europe Heiko Jensen.
Hurtigruten said Daniels’ promotion was recognition of building a “sales team outperforming targets and establishing wider recognition for Hurtigruten in the UK and Ireland”.
Asta Lassesen, Hurtigruten’s chief commercial officer, said: “We are delighted to appoint Anthony and Heiko to these new roles that we have created. We are confident they will both continue to deliver great results for Hurtigruten especially in the lead up to the launch of our first hybrid ship, the MS Roald Amundsen.
“We also want to take the time to say thank you to Magnus for his great work and dedication to making Hurtigruten a success in the UK and EMEA. We wish him all the best for his next adventure.”
