Agents from Travel Counsellors and Once in a Lifetime Holidays were among those awarded with a fam trip to Miami at two quiz-based events in London and Manchester last month.
The events, hosted by TTG, Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Voyages, were part of the Virgin duo’s Going MIA campaign, designed to promote and source agents for their first joint fam trip taking place in April 2020.
Travel Counsellor’s Emma Vipond, one of the winning agents in Manchester, said: “I feel incredibly lucky to have won a trip to Miami and to have the amazing opportunity of being one of the first people to set foot on Virgin’s first-ever cruise ship, Scarlet Lady.”
“I’m looking forward to being able to share my experience with my customers and providing them with first-hand information on what they can expect on a Virgin Voyages cruise,” she added.
In London, Joan Jones from Once in a Lifetime Holidays was “thrilled” and “excited” about her win.
She said: “I’m interested to see the ship and the difference that it brings to the market compared to other cruise lines. Because the concept is so different, actually seeing it for yourself is going to make a huge difference [to selling ability].”
Other agents to have won a place on the trip include Rachel Martin, Flight Centre; Simon Wright, Treehouse Travel; Lauren Watson, DialAFlight; Paul Hayden, Hays Travel; and Allan Jones, Cruise 1st.
In total, eight agents have won spots on the Going MIA fam trip, with Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Voyages looking to source a further seven via a sales mission in January 2020.
