The US has seen the most significant boost, with sales up 60% on the same period last year.

Sales of the Middle East have also increased by 50%.

The online travel agency has recently developed its long-haul inventory, adding Sri Lanka and Thailand for the first time.

In Sri Lanka, featured holiday resorts include Kandy, Bentota, The Cultural Triangle and Negombo, while in Thailand resorts include Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hua Hin and Phi Phi.

Wayne Perks, managing director of Teletext Holidays, said: “It is highly encouraging to see that our focus on developing the long-haul offering is showing significant results.

“We are very happy with the sales figures. The future looks very positive indeed for our further consolidation in these areas and our entry into other long-haul destinations.”
