Virgin Holidays has reshuffled its leadership team in a move which sees vice-president of product and distribution, Lee Haslett, move to Virgin Atlantic.
Haslett, a former member of TTG’s 30 Under 30 programme, will join the carrier in June as vice-president, sales.
As part of the shake-up, some of Haslett’s direct reports have also been rotated into new roles.
Angus Bond, previously Head of USA product, has taken up the role of head of e-commerce and hotel sourcing in which Virgin Holidays said he will be “responsible for spearheading an aggressive digital overhaul” as part of the business’s growth strategy.
His role has temporarily been replaced by James Killick, who has been promoted to interim head of USA product.
Elsewhere Rachel Wilton, previously head of e-commerce, moves to head of retail, where she takes responsibility for the single biggest sales channel in the organisation and continue the roll-out of standalone v-room stores and Next concessions.
While Dan Buckingham, previously head of retail for Virgin Holidays, has accepted a role at Virgin Atlantic as head of Clubhouses, where he will oversee the operation of nine Clubhouses and all third-party lounges worldwide.
Haslett said: “I’ve learnt so much at Virgin Holidays over the past decade and am so proud of what we’ve achieved – from our transition to a direct-only business, to the launch of our award-winning v-room stores, to the expansion of our product portfolio that has really cemented us as the market leader in the USA and the Caribbean.
“I’m looking forward to my next challenge, super-charging the Virgin Atlantic sales team, increasing both passenger numbers and market share on key routes. I have an important job to do in Virgin Holidays throughout the coming months and I’m completely committed to ensuring my successor hits the ground running.”
Joe Thompson, managing director of Virgin Holidays, added: “We’re committed to developing the best talent within the travel industry – and to do that, you need to provide new opportunities that add breadth and depth to our team’s skills and experience.
“We’re looking forward to seeing what the team can achieve as we enter our next phase of ambitious growth.”
