The cruise line has launched a competition for agents to win a place on pre-inaugural trips on Virgin’s first ship Scarlet Lady, as well as announcing plans for a beach club at Bimini in the Bahamas.
The unveiling of the trade contest in New York comes on the same day (February 14) that Virgin Voyages put its first cruises on sale for Scarlet Lady’s debut season in 2020.
The company also announced plans for The Beach Club at Bimini, which will be featured on all sailings on Scarlet Lady.
The brand, which calls agents “first mates”, has launched a contest running up to the end of June, which will guarantee a place on one of Scarlet Lady’s pre-inaugural trips in 2020 to the 100 top-selling individual agents with the overall best-selling agent winning a stay in a RockStar Suite.
Virgin Voyages will be initially operating a range of four and five-night itineraries from Miami to Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
The competition for agents was launched at a special afternoon high tea event for “first mates” in New York, which included a panel discussion with Virgin founder Richard Branson followed by a party featuring DJ Mark Ronson.
Virgin Voyages has promised to “think out of the box” in how they will work with agents over the next year as the Scarlet Lady prepares to make its long-awaited debut.
