Developed and managed by environmental nonprofit Oceanic Global, the Blue Standard programme helps hospitality businesses take measurable action through single-use-plastic reduction, improved waste management, and more responsible operating practices.
The Blue Seal verification recognises Le Barthélemy's commitment to reducing harmful single-use plastics, responsibly managing waste, and implementing Blue Actions that further the comprehensive sustainability of its operations.
Since opening in 2016 on St Barths' Grand Cul-de-Sac, Le Barthélemy has made environmental stewardship an intrinsic part of both its operations and the guest experience, with initiatives that allow guests to organically connect with, and help care for, the destination.
Extending beyond behind-the-scenes operations, this includes, coral restoration practices, Zero-waste cooking classes, wastewater management, waste-reduction practices across all hotel operations, and opportunities for guests to learn about and connect with the marine environment.
As a Blue Verified business, Le Barthélemy is proud to be part of the global movement establishing balance between industries and the natural world that sustains them.
“Oceanic Global is proud to add Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa to our network of Blue Verified businesses for pioneering sustainable best practices in their sector, achieving universal accountability for responsible business leadership. The progress we accomplish through the Blue Standard is made possible when our community drives impact in their direct spheres and works collectively on a global scale.”
