What is the best way to get to your destination?
Direct flights can be taken from London to Tampa International Airport with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, which is just a 30-minute drive from the beach. Alternatively, we are only 90-minutes’ drive from Orlando, making the perfect twin-centre. On arrival, either car hire or an Uber will get you to our destination with ease. Once here, public transport is an efficient and cost-effective way to get from downtown to the beaches, and along from there, for as little as $1.50 each way.
What are the must-see sights or must-do activities?
St. Pete-Clearwater is home to 35-miles of America’s Best Beaches, consistently voted amongst the top in the US and beyond. With 361 days of sunshine on average per year, every day is the perfect day for the beach, dolphin spotting trips, clear kayaking around mangroves, or exploring pristine state parks.
Beyond the beach, visitors find a booming foodie and arts scene, where towering colourful murals meet world-class museums and Michelin dining. There really is something for everyone.
What are the accommodation options?
The property line-up in destination is as diverse as the rich activity offering found. Condos, villas, stylish motels, and expansive luxurious resorts coincide both on the sands of our beaches and downtown.
Stand outs include the JW Marriott Clearwater Beach, The Don CeSar (St. Pete Beach), The Vinoy Resort & Golf Club (downtown St. Pete), Sheraton Sand Key, and Wyndham Grand, Clearwater Beach.
The Luce, a Tribute Portfolio collection property is set to open very shortly on St. Pete Beach. Previously known as the Postcard Inn on the Beach, this beloved 200 room property has undergone a complete makeover, now emulating 70’s coastal chic, whilst keeping all of the fun of the Postcard!
When should clients visit?
St. Pete-Clearwater is a year-round destination, with sunshine days no matter the month. For that sweet spot where you can luxuriate in the sun but also get busy with water and land sports without breaking a sweat, we’d recommend spring and autumn. These are long, warm, and dry days where temperatures push towards 30 degrees Celsius! Temperatures rarely drop below 20 degrees Celsius, so winter also proves perfect.
How long would you recommend visitors stay?
Whilst St. Pete-Clearwater is the number one twin-centre with Orlando, we believe that to get the ultimate beach experience, you need a little more time. For quick pit stops of ‘theme park therapy’, three to four nights prove effective for relaxation. To get to grips with all the incredible experiences here, we’d suggest seven nights or more, to immerse in the sports, arts, culture, and food delights on offer. A few nights in downtown St. Pete and a few on one of our award-winning beaches would be ideal!
What tools do you have available to travel agents?
