John Licence will join a panel exploring diversity in the workplace alongside transgender champion Amy Stanning, head of region for Home Solutions West, Barclays, and Vicky Hayden, head of private sector programmes at Stonewall.
The panel will examine why inclusive workplaces matter – and what the repercussions can be if employers fail to take note.
Elsewhere, Mark McCulloch, communications director representing NYC & Company, has been added to the Destinations Masterclass panel, with Gabriel Dorch, country manager UK, Visit Sweden, and Mladen Ljubisic, head of the Slovenian Tourist Board for UK and Ireland.
The panel will be moderated by Tris Reid-Smith, editor-in-chief of Gay Star News, and will examine how and why tourist boards are successfully targeting the LGBT market and the lessons they learned along the way.
Other sessions explored during the day will include marketing lessons, and a session by We Are Social senior editor Ray Murphy entitled Braving the Backlash. He will discuss key findings from the agency’s new report, with practical advice as to how brands can approach sensitive issues in their marketing and properly manage hate speech and negativity online.
Last year’s delegates said the TTG LGBT conference “surpassed all expectations based on the number of attendees, the wide variety of attendees, the number of speakers and the honest and open way that each of the speakers presented”.
“I was entertained, moved and empowered by listening to my peers discuss their experiences and knowledge of LGBT in the travel industry,” said one. “It was a true highlight of the year for me.”
Another commented it was an “excellent conference, very well organised, with some exceptional speakers”, while one delegate described it as “an awesome event – inspiring, informative, inclusive and at times emotional”.
