In order to win, agents will need to watch the Discover Manaakitanga with Tourism New Zealand Facebook Live broadcast on TTG’s Facebook page, then answer a question about its content.
The educational trip will be themed “manaakitanga”, which loosely translates as “hospitality” and is a concept that plays a key role in Maori society.
“Manaakitanga is going above and beyond in looking after visitors,” said Marc Mulcahy, trade development consultant for Tourism New Zealand.
“The focus of our Journey of Manaakitanga campaign is to highlight this unique concept to travel agents so that they can help their clients understand our welcoming culture and explain to them that New Zealanders want visitors to have a great time in their country and will go to great lengths to ensure they do.”
Tourism New Zealand has partnered with Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines for the fam trip.
Mulcahy said: “On the fam trip the participants will explore a range of New Zealand’s stunning regions but also immerse themselves in Kiwi culture and meet the local guides and operators that will help make their clients’ trips so memorable.”
The Facebook Live is taking place at 12pm on March 6 and will be available to watch later if agents aren’t able to tune in live. After the broadcast, agents can submit their competition entries at ttgmedia.com/competitions.
