Apotheke South Beach, a botanical-infused cocktail concept designed for seekers and the inquisitive mind, officially debuts on 30 October in Miami Beach’s Art Deco District.
Located behind an unmarked entrance on Washington Avenue at Moxy South Beach, the opening marks the latest chapter for Apotheke Mixology.
The brand began in 2008 on New York City’s Doyers Street, later expanding to Los Angeles (2018) and NoMad NYC (2022). Named for the old-world apothecary and rooted in the belief that plants are medicine, Apotheke brings its high-proof, botanical-extract cocktails to South Beach for the first time.
Discreetly accessed directly from the street, Apotheke complements Moxy South Beach’s culinary lineup, including Naked Tomato by Chef Eyal Shani and the rooftop lounge Serena. Apotheke offers an intimate, music-filled atmosphere designed for human connection, conversation, and discovery, providing a distinct alternative to the typical South Beach scene.
At the heart of the venue is the Original Formula List, curated by Mixology Director Nicolas O’Connor. It features nine exclusive cocktails crafted for Miami Beach—including Novia Del Sol, Write It Off, Dawn Patrol, and Bilongo, alongside rotating historic formulas from NYC and LA. Organized by intended feeling, categories include:
– Health & Beauty: Novia Del Sol (Calendula-infused vodka, coconut, tamarind, turmeric, Meyer lemon, club soda).
– Painkillers: Write It Off (bourbon, Amaro Montenegro, date nectar, tamarind, matcha bitters, candied almond).
– Stimulants: Dawn Patrol (dark-aged rum, ube, dark roast coffee, condensed coconut milk, cardamom, burnt cinnamon, mint).
– Aphrodisiacs: Bilongo (dark-aged rum, açai, pistachio cream, lime, goji berry, maca root, Dubai Chocolate Bitters).
Co-founded by siblings Heather Tierney and the late Christopher Tierney, the brand carries forward Christopher’s visual language and design legacy.
