The Belize Tourism Board is proud to announce a landmark development for the destination's connectivity from Europe. This morning, at the headquarters of Discover Airlines, the leisure carrier of the Lufthansa Group, in Frankfurt, Germany, Belize Director of Tourism Evan Tillett and Discover Airlines CEO, Ulrich Lindner, Belize signed an agreement securing a new connection between Frankfurt, Germany, and Belize City. This new route will also provide convenient same-day onward connections from London, Paris and Amsterdam.

Launching on 16 December 2027, Discover Airlines will introduce a twice-weekly seasonal service between Frankfurt, Germany, and Belize City. Operating every Thursday and Sunday through to mid-April 2028, the new route has been strategically timed to give European travellers an ideal opportunity to visit during the winter travel months.

The new flight will go on sale 21 December 2026, giving travellers from the UK the option to connect seamlessly in Europe via Frankfurt from London, while additional onward connections from Paris and Amsterdam will further enhance accessibility for travellers across Europe.

"The introduction of this new service is of strategic importance to Belize's tourism industry as we continue to diversify our source markets and expand international air connectivity" commented Hon. Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations.

He added: "Strengthening our presence in Europe is a key priority, and this new connection from Frankfurt creates new opportunities to attract visitors from Germany and across the continent. It will also make it easier for travellers to experience the very best of Belize, from our world-renowned Barrier Reef and idyllic islands to lush rainforests, ancient Maya sites and rich cultural heritage."

The new flight will allow visitors to experience the destination at its best, with warm temperatures and favourable conditions for exploring both its exceptional range of experiences, from diving the world's second-largest barrier reef to exploring the rainforest.
