The FORMULA 1® PORTUGUESE GRAND PRIX will take place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão, from 18 to 20 June 2027. The confirmation follows the official publication of the 2027 season calendar, released this Wednesday by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile - FIA.

The race marks the return of the pinnacle of world motorsport to the country and follows the agreement signed between Formula 1® and the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in December 2025, which also secures the staging of the race in 2028.

The Portuguese round will occupy a strategic position at the start of the European season. For Jaime Costa, Chief Executive Officer of Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, this is a long-awaited milestone.

“We finally have a date we have been working towards for a very long time," he said. "The last season held here, in 2021, left drivers, teams and fans impressed by our facilities, but above all by the excitement that our circuit delivers.”

Over the three days of competition, there will be continuous on-track activity, complemented by initiatives and side events taking place during the week leading up to the Grand Prix.

The event mobilises the region as a whole and represents a strong asset for promotion and economic dynamism.

André Gomes, President of Turismo do Algarve, added: “In 2027, we will be able to increase this impact significantly, with hundreds of thousands of people over the several days of the event, an extraordinary global audience and an estimated economic potential of around €150 million, with effects on hotels, restaurants, transport, retail, services and a broad chain of companies and suppliers across the region.”
