Mantis Collection has officially opened Gamra Mountain Resort by Mantis in the southwestern highlands of Al Baha, Saudi Arabia, located at approximately 2,260 metres above sea level on Khairah Mountain.
Known as the Garden of the Hijaz, Al Baha offers a striking contrast to the Kingdom’s desert landscapes. It has cooler temperatures, with more than 100 forests, juniper and acacia trees, terraced farmland and orchards producing apricots and pomegranate.
Gamra Mountain Resort by Mantis features 30 tented Mountain Suites, evoking camp and lodge-style escapes, set alongside the soon-to-open Adventure Park at the centre of the resort and connected by a one-kilometre internal route that encourages guests to move naturally between relaxation and exploration.
The resort provides the ideal base from which to explore the wider Al Baha region and its nearby attractions, including Raghadan Forest, Khairah Forest, Baljurashi National Park, Al Hamda Waterfall and Bakhroush bin Allaas Castle, while centuries-old stone villages, watchtowers and historic mosques offer further insight into the region's cultural heritage.
Eco Credentials: Sustainability at Gamra is shaped by the surrounding mountain environment, with a focus on responsible water and energy use, thoughtful waste management and a growing emphasis on local sourcing and community engagement. Ahead of opening, the resort partnered with Al Baha Municipality and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture on the ‘Gamra Grows’ initiative, planting 1,000 seedlings as part of its ongoing commitment to the region.
Insider Tip: With temperatures typically ranging between 15°C and 22°C, Al Baha offers a mountain escape that can be enjoyed across all seasons. The region is renowned for its centuries-old beekeeping traditions, producing high-quality natural honey.
