TTG is set to host its first online seminar focused on helping agents expand their confidence and knowledge of planning and selling accessible travel.
One in five people in the UK live with a disability or health condition, government statistics in 2018 showed, as it called for the tourism industry to do more to cater for disabled people, pointing out: “There is a clear business case for ensuring that disabled people’s needs are catered to.”
In this first-of-its-kind seminar, TTG explores how agents can tap into this important sector, what more they can do to support disabled clients and hears from the destinations actively appealing to those with accessibility needs.
The free-to-attend training event will take place from 2pm on 18 October and features a range of expert speakers sharing their advice.
The seminar will be a live event, with agents encouraged to ask questions throughout the afternoon.
Speakers announced so far include:
Lynne Kirby, managing director, Enable Holidays
Monique Jarrett, model, influencer and diversity advocate
Richard Thompson, co-founder, Inclu Travel
Narelle McDougall, general manager, Amilla Maldives
The seminar is taking place in partnership with Visit Florida and will feature an opening session detailing what the Sunshine State is doing to make its tourism industry more accessible and inclusive.
