Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) continues to strengthen its operational foundation, supported by internationally recognised safety standards, improved reliability and a continued focus on service delivery.
Malaysia Airlines has successfully renewed its International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registration, extending its certification through to July 2028.
The airline was also recently awarded the Seven Star PLUS safety rating by AirIineRatings.com, following an independent assessment of its onboard standards and operational practices.
Meanwhile, sister airline Firefly maintains its Seven-Star Safety Rating and IOSA registration, with the latter valid through February 2028. Together, these credentials reflect the airlines' ongoing focus on safety across their operations.
This focus is complemented by strong operational performance across the Group's airline portfolio. In 1H 2026, Malaysia Airlines achieved an average On-Time Performance (OTP) of 90.8%, consistently exceeding its operational targets and peaking at 93.8% in April.
Concurrently, Firefly recorded a five-year high On-Time Performance (OTP) average of 92.5% in 1H 2026, peaking at 94.2% in March. The improvement in schedule reliability also contributed to a nearly 50% year-on-year reduction in flight delay-related feedback.
Complementing these operational achievements, Malaysia Airlines continues to earn recognition across key markets through a range of industry and consumer awards. The carrier was named an APEX Four-Star Major Airline and ranked among Airline Ratings' Top 20 World's Best Full-Service Airlines for 2026.
Malaysia Airlines recently secured its fourth consecutive major brand award in South Korea, securing the Grand Prize in the Airline Category at the 2026 Korea Consumer Awards organised by Dong-A IIbo.
The award, determined through consumer research and expert evaluation based on trust, differentiation, and customer-centric management, highlights sustained brand credibility internationally.
