Sun Siyam Vilu Reef has unveiled its new Ocean Signature Villas with Pool and Slide, the resort's most ambitious villa transformation to date. The launch introduces 50 new overwater villas, comprising 48 one-bedroom and two two-bedroom villas, marking the most significant upgrade to the resort since it opened in 1988.

The new villas represent a milestone for Sun Siyam Group's original Maldivian resort, combining contemporary design with warm Maldivian hospitality. Designed for couples and families, each villa enjoys panoramic lagoon views with sunrise-to-sunset vistas.

The interiors feature dramatic archways, natural textures and flowing open-plan spaces. Bedrooms lead into dressing areas and spacious bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs and dual vanities. Outside, guests can relax on expansive decks with a private pool, overwater hammock and an 11-metre waterslide that leads directly into the lagoon.

The transformation was created in partnership with London-based Studio Sixty7, led by founders and Creative Directors Lee McNichol and Jose Rivero. The design draws inspiration from the natural forms and colours of the Maldives, combining sculptural curves, bespoke timber joinery and locally produced artwork to create a contemporary island aesthetic.
