Opening in October 2025, The Sanctuary marks a new chapter for Wilderness, redefining the intersection of wild luxury and holistic wellbeing.

Set within one of Africa’s most remarkable ecosystems, Wilderness Mombo provides a natural stage for this evolution. Designed to inspire stillness and reconnection, the space blends into its surroundings through organic architecture, natural timber and open-air design that evokes calm and balance. Every detail restores harmony, from sweeping Delta views, to the soothing interplay of light, sound and texture.

Guests are invited on a journey of renewal, with facilities that balance energy and rest: a lap pool, sauna and ice bath for contrast therapy, treatment rooms including a couple’s suite, meditation cocoons, an air-conditioned gym, and an open-air yoga deck. A nourishing deli and juice bar, the Remedy Bar, inspired by ancient healing traditions, include local botanicals such as wild sage, indigo dye bush and jackalberry fruit.

Treatments draw on Africa’s timeless wisdom and modern skincare science. TheraNaka rituals use indigenous botanicals to engage scent, sound and touch, while Esse facials apply biotechnology for natural radiance. Signature experiences include the African Fusion Body Massage with marula-herb oils, Tree of Life Journey inspired by the baobab, and Couples Connect, a ritual for strength and renewal.

A specially commissioned soundscape by composer Mikhaela Faye, titled Sanctum, deepens the sensory immersion. Recorded on-site, it layers ambient sounds; lion roars, elephant clashes, bird calls and boma drums, capturing the spirit of the Delta and grounding guests in its rhythm.
