• Commission structure: Agents get to keep 60% of the commission earned - it’s a 60% split to the Travel Counsellor and 40% to the business. The commission is paid around 6 weeks prior to departure if it's a forward booking or in the next commission pay if customers are due to travel within the next few months.
• Licences and memberships: We are Atol-protected. We have our own financial trust to protect customer funds for non-flight bookings, offering high-level financial protection. Customers’ money from the moment the holiday is booked right through to their return is 100% financially protection. We also have an in-house commercial team that manages all of our supplier partnerships, and agents are only able to work with approved suppliers within this network.
• Training and support: Each of our routes-to-entry packages includes a comprehensive training programme that blends digital learning with a highly hands-on approach. This begins with a 10-day, trainer-led induction delivered remotely as part of a cohort. It combines a series of digital modules with collaborative group learning, ensuring a structured and supportive start. The sessions are highly interactive, delivered via Teams and supported through our Discover platform. Our training is accredited by the Institute of Travel and Tourism (ITT) and rated “excellent”. It covers all aspects of setting up and running your business, including marketing support, access to relationship management teams who support our Travel Counsellors, and guidance across the wider business.
• Sustainability & DEI: At Travel Counsellors, we are committed to helping business owners sell travel more responsibly. Through ongoing training, tools and supplier partnerships, we support them to make more informed choices, reduce environmental impact and put local communities first. Our focus is on meaningful, sustainable experiences that genuinely benefit destinations and travellers alike. Alongside this, our DE&I approach is brought to life through active Affinity groups, creating a more inclusive, supportive community where every Travel Counsellor can thrive.
• Technology: Our technology is designed to put Travel Counsellors in control of thriving, modern travel businesses. Phenix brings quoting, booking and client management together in one intuitive place, while our AI-powered assistant, TC Co‑Pilot, supports with ideas, content and research, freeing up more time to focus on clients. Real‑time data, personalised marketing tools and secure, cloud‑based systems all work together to help our business owners deliver exceptional, tailor‑made trips at scale.
