A study in 2014, reported by the Guardian, revealed that 34% of LGBT people in the UK were in the closet at work over fear of homophobia from their colleagues and concerns they may be excluded or overlooked for promotions.
TTG wants to take the pulse of the travel industry and find out whether both LGBT people and non-LGBT people believe the industry should be doing more
In what we believe is the first survey of its kind in the UK and Irish travel sector, we want to know how comfortable LGBT people feel being out and whether straight people believe the environments in which they work encourage their colleagues to be who they are.
In partnership with Out Now Business Class we have created a survey designed for everyone working in travel and tourism in the UK - both LGBT people and non–LGBT people - to help us learn how comfortable LGBT people feel being “out” within the sector, and whether the industry should be doing more.
The survey is confidential, and answers will not be linked to your identity.
To complete it will only take around five minutes.
The survey can be found here.
The findings will be reported in TTG later in the year, and we hope will provide a useful guide as to how we can move our LGBT network, TTG LGBT, forward.
