Spring Hotels gave travel media and trade partners a moment of calm before WTM London this morning, swapping the usual rush to ExCeL for breakfast by the Thames, a river cruise and a cable car ride across the capital.
The event, aptly themed From the Thames to the Atlantic, began at the Uber Clipper Lounge at Embankment Pier for coffee, pastries and a first look at the Tenerife hotel group's latest plans.
On the agenda was the upcoming major transformation of Cleopatra Palace, with plans for a new luxury offering centred on wellness, recovery and lifestyle experiences, alongside new Family Suites and children's facilities at Mediterranean Palace.
Then it was all aboard an Uber Boat by Thames Clippers for the journey to North Greenwich, followed by a trip on London Cable Car to ExCeL, giving guests a rather different start to one of the busiest dates in the travel industry calendar.
Jo Robinson, Chief Sales Officer at Spring Hotels, said:
"Anyone who's been to WTM knows how full-on it can be, so we thought we'd start things a little differently this year. We work closely with our media and trade partners throughout the year, but there's nothing quite like getting everyone together in person. And it's not every day you get to travel to a trade show by boat and cable car!
"We've grown significantly over the past year, and there's a lot more to come. We're investing in our hotels, but also in the experiences we can offer our guests, and it was lovely to have the chance to share some of those plans before heading into WTM."
The announcements follow Spring Hotels' acquisition of three Tenerife properties in 2025, marking the next chapter in the group's continued investment in the island.
