You launched Silver Nova in August – what has been the reaction?
Silver Nova is more incredible than I could have hoped. The reaction from media and agents on the ship and across social media since we’ve launched has been wonderful. Her innovative design is unlike any other ship in our fleet and we look forward to guests joining us on board.
How does Silversea continue to support agents?
Our travel partners are imperative to our business. We are always thinking of how best to work together and help them sell our incredible voyages. This summer we ran an initiative with a chance to win rewards when agents sold an expedition cruise; we created a dedicated Travel Advisor Appreciation Landing page with details of reduced rates, key information and inspirational content to help them sell. Our strategy is working – in 2023 our revenue through agents is 50% up on 2022, which is the culmination of our team’s tireless efforts.
What do you say to agents who don’t yet sell cruise?
The cruising industry is having an incredible moment with a resurgence in demand, with cruise lines reporting occupancy levels surpassing 100% in the first quarter of 2023. Cruising allows guests to explore some of the most remote places on earth, and with Silversea’s indulgent spa offering, authentic Sea and Land Taste (S.A.L.T) culinary programme and luxury amenities, we’re offering a true five-star resort experience at sea.
What else is on the horizon?
Silver Nova is the first to launch from our game-changing new Nova Class of ships and summer 2024 will see the arrival of Silver Ray, who will mirror aspects of her sister ship with pioneering, asymmetrical design and extraordinary use of glass for uninterrupted views.
