Beachgoers in Cannes have been banned from taking bags to the beach over fears of another terrorist attack.
Concerns have been expressed that they might be used to smuggle weapons and explosives on to the beach to commit another atrocity.
The ban has also been extended to the A-listers’ town’s promenades, boulevards, and walkways as well as its many marinas.
Sunbathers have been told they may use transparent bags for their stuff while those who flout the ban now face arrest.
The ban has been introduced over fears of another attack on the country’s south cost following the lorry attack in Nice in July which saw 84 people killed.
