French ferry company Brittany Ferries is set to restore its fast UK to France cross-Channel ferry route in 2022.
The summer service was originally suspended in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
From late May until early September 2022, the Normandy port of Cherbourg will be linked with Portsmouth and Poole.
The fast service will operate from 27 May to 5 June and 15 July to 4 September on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. It will depart from Portsmouth at 7am to arrive in Cherbourg at 11am. A return service will depart Cherbourg at 11.45am and arrive in Poole at 1.15pm.
The sailings will be operated on Brittany Ferries’ behalf by Condor Ferries using its fast ferry Condor Liberation.
Paul Acheson, sales and marketing director for Brittany Ferries, said demand for cross-Channel sailings is "roaring back".
"As we emerge from Covid-19, we’re delighted to restore choice and flexibility for our customers as they make their cross-Channel travel plans for 2022," he added.
"This will complement our conventional service operated by Barfleur on the Poole-Cherbourg route, and our overnight sailings from Portsmouth to Cherbourg with our newest ships Galicia and Salamanca."
