The Family Holiday Association has bought its first caravan in South Wales thanks to a donation from a benefactor.

The FHA restarted offering breaks to families in May and says "the demand is higher than ever"

The FHA said it had chosen a van at Parkdean’s Trecco Bay Holiday Park, near Porthcawl, to help struggling families in the area enjoy a short break.

The Trecco Bay site offers a range of facilities including an indoor swimming pool and a wet outdoor play area, as well as dodgem cars, an adventure playground, mini golf and an arcade.

Martin Realey, FHA chief executive, said: “I recently visited the Trecco Bay Holiday Park with my own family. We had an absolutely wonderful time.

"The children loved hunting for treasures and rock climbing on the beach and the evening entertainment was first class. We’ll definitely be going back in the future.”
