French air traffic controllers threaten further three-day strike

French air traffic controllers have threatened to strike for an additional three days later this month over wages and growing staff shortages.

Threat of new action comes after a strike on Friday (16 September) led to the cancellation of hundreds of flights

It comes after strike action by the workers on Friday (16 September) caused British Airways, Ryanair, easyJet and Air France to cancel hundreds of flights. 

The SNCTA union has since called for additional strikes from 28-30 September in response to growing staff shortages in France and wage disagreements.

The planned walkouts could cause additional problems as they will coincide with strike action called for by France’s labour union the Confederation Generale du Travail.
