Chief executive James Thornton and managing director EMEA Zina Bencheikh confirmed Nazimcan Hartlap was among the more than 33,000 victims of last Monday’s disaster.
Thornton said he was "deeply saddened", adding: "My thoughts are with his family and our local team who are mourning the loss of a colleague and more so, a friend."
Intrepid last week launched its own fundraising effort to support relief efforts in south-eastern Turkey and northern Syria for people affected by the earthquakes.
And following confirmation of Hartlap’s death, Intrepid has doubled its contribution to its Red Cross fundraiser, and pledged to now match donations up to Aus $200,000.
Bencheikh added: "I was lucky enough to meet Nazimcan just a few weeks ago in our Istanbul office and we got on well immediately, he was a smart guy with a bright future at Intrepid."
