Customers can apply the flash sale saving on package holidays through to summer 2023 when they book by 18 January.

Jet2holidays said it has seen “an immediate spike in traffic and bookings” after confirmation pre-departure testing for fully vaccinated UK arrivals would be axed on Friday (7 January).

Arrivals into England will also be able to take a lateral flow test, instead of a PCR, from Sunday (9 January) and no longer need to self-isolate.

Chief executive Steve Heapy said the news “gets the year off to a fantastic start”, adding how he was anticipating the changes to be mirrored by ministers in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

“It is abundantly clear to everyone that travel testing requirements have had no impact on the spread of the Omicron variant, so this should represent the end of a set of measures that are not only disproportionate but futile too,” said Heapy.

“That said, the removal of these travel restrictions is the news that customers and the industry alike has been desperate to hear, and the massive surge in traffic and bookings tells us that holidays are very much back on for UK holidaymakers.

“Customers are jumping at the chance to book the holidays they have been looking forward to and we want to put our independent travel agency partners at the heart of this bounce back, which is why we are launching this promotion.”

Heapy added how Jet2holidays’ ‘Travel Made Simple’ campaign had been designed to tap into “customer demand for knowledge and expertise” - with independent agents “perfectly positioned" to provide it.

“As demand unlocks and customers clamour for this expertise, now is the perfect time to accompany that with a fantastic promotion for independent travel agents to use,” he said.
