A TTG Mystery Shopper winner has become the first agent to be awarded a 100% score in almost three years.
Sally Preston, a senior consultant with Peakes Travel Elite in Shrewsbury, which is a TTG Top 50 finalist, was given the maximum points when our undercover client visited her shop.
Her task was to book a week’s all-inclusive package to the Turkish resort of Bodrum for two adults and a child, with a budget of £2,400.
Preston beat off competition from the town’s Worldchoice Travel and from two Google searches using the term “Bodrum all-inclusive holidays”, which turned up Thomas Cook and First Choice websites.
The agency, which is an Elite Travel Group and Aito Agents’ member, was praised by React Surveys for its “enticing window display and smartly dressed staff”. It added: “I would highly recommend the agency. I was so impressed with the service that I intend to book my next holiday with them. The service was professional yet friendly, and I was valued as a customer.”
Preston’s quote came in under budget, including a free child’s place, with extra marks awarded after she gave advice on visas and offered to arrange them. Preston, who has worked in travel for 11 years after starting as an apprentice, tweeted afterwards: “This shows how much I love my job.”
She added to TTG: “Twitter has gone a bit crazy,” and said she had received many messages of congratulations. “Several tour operators contacted me personally, which is lovely.”
Colleagues at Peakes Travel also took her out for the evening to celebrate, while a copy of the TTG spread now has pride of place in the agency window. It is not the first time Preston has been in the spotlight – she was also previously nominated by operators as an Aito Agent All Star.
Peakes Travel Elite is a TTG Top 50 finalist in Central & East region.
