Oman Air has set a new record after buying a pair of take-off and landing slots at Heathrow for $75 million.
The airline bought the pair from Air France-KLM. Air France also sold a second slot for a lower price to Emirates, giving the airline six daily flights to Dubai from the airport.
The price Oman paid for the slots, which includes an early morning arrival, beats the $60 million paid by American Airlines for a slot a year ago.
They also give the airline two daily flights from the airport and the deal comes as Oman plans to more than double the size of its fleet to 70 aircraft by the end of the decade.
