Key account manager Paul Mellon hosted a mix of trade partners and Facebook competition winners on the brand’s fourth agent fam this year.
Following the trip’s success, Mellon said the line has seen an uptick in the agents’ Douro bookings. Riviera is now considering more fam trip dates this Autumn.
"The feedback from agents is they were amazed at how beautiful and relaxing river cruising is, especially on the Douro," Mellon said. "They now believe it will be even easier to sell this product with Riviera, as so much is included, and they know their customers will be totally looked after on their luxury cruise.
"They have all posted on social media about the trip and we have had bookings come in for the Douro from the agents’ branches already."
As well as Mellon, Stacey Bogg from Lincolnshire Co-op Travel, Kate Gilliand of Oasis Travel, Natalie King from Miles Morgan Travel, Amanda Heap of Premier Travel and Althams Travel’s Beverley Carter and Lauren Cawtherley also attended.
