Taking place online from 2pm on 28 July, Agenda 2022: Preventing a summer of discontent will examine how the travel sector can work together to avoid further disruption during its vital peak season and prevent a summer of discontent for travellers that could have long-term reputational damage.
As a pivotal summer for the industry begins in earnest, Merriman will be interviewed by TTG editor Sophie Griffiths and offer his assessment on the challenging landscape facing travel businesses, discuss how government can further support the industry’s pandemic recovery and suggest what urgently should be done to alleviate pain points for businesses and their customers.
Meanwhile, Tanzer will join Airlines UK boss Tim Alderslade and Karen Dee, chief executive of the Airport Operators Association, to discuss ongoing sector disruption and the work being done to alleviate issues, as well as its impacts on Abta-member agents and operators and their clients.
Attendees will also hear from Eleanor Scott, director of strategy, travel and leisure at PwC, as she reveals findings of TTG and PwC’s latest exclusive survey examining how the worsening cost of living crisis could impact travel spending.
Speakers during the seminar also include Simon Applebaum, managing director of Gold Medal, Amanda Matthews, managing director of Designer Travel and Claire Steiner, ITT’s director of education.
An exclusive report of the PwC/TTG findings will be sent out to all delegates following the event. The TTG seminar series is open to all TTG+ members, with sessions available afterwards on-demand.
