Tui said on Wednesday (8 June) that it will not operate package holidays to the country departing up to and on 30 June 2022 following a change in Foreign Office (FCDO) guidance on 13 May advising against all but essential travel to the country.

The airline and operator had previously cancelled all breaks to Sri Lanka up until the end of May. A Tui spokesperson said: “We will be proactively contacting all impacted customers in departure date order to discuss their options.”

The cancellations do not apply to customers transiting through Sri Lanka international airport, and Tui has said anyone in resort can continue to enjoy their holiday as planned.
