Fam trips so inspiring they reduce agents to tears don’t come about every day, but in 2023 these happy tears were in abundance. Last year, TTG’s community of Sustainable Travel Ambassadors embarked on life-changing adventures in Crete, Majorca and Sri Lanka, with the itineraries designed to educate these agents on how their clients can avoid negative impacts and create positive ones when travelling the world.
Attending a series of online workshops, completing business-building tasks and receiving a suite of marketing tools left these Ambassadors knowledgeable in selling sustainable travel – and confident they could increase their responsible holiday sales.
Sustainable Travel Heroes returns with sector champions
“I gained a keen eye for choosing genuinely sustainable suppliers, which has become invaluable, especially when confronted with overwhelming choices in recognising trustworthy partners,” says Ellie Adamo, director at Purpose Travel. “Plus, I had no idea how much fun it would be and how many new friends I would make!”
ArrangeMy Escape’s general manager Jennifer Lynch says the TTG Sustainable Travel Heroes programme has enabled her to “create policies, train and advise my team, and even have the confidence to go out into the community”.
“As an agency finding their way when it comes to sustainability, the contacts, training and insight has been truly inspiring for our business,” she added.
The programme was so well received, in fact, that 100% of the Class of 2023 TTG Sustainable Travel Ambassadors would recommend it to a colleague.
