The operator has recruited Sharon Vaughan as is first dedicated BDM for Scotland and Northern Ireland following what UK and Ireland Managing Director Neil Sealy described as "very healthy" growth from agents.
Sealy, who has known Vaughan since 2012 when they worked together, said she would bring wide-ranging travel industry experience to the role from working in a busy tour operator call centre to being a self-employed travel agent herself.
"She also has a great work ethic and an excellent understanding of tour operating from both sales and operational perspectives, and I have no doubt she will thrive in this BDM role," Sealy added.
Vaughan, who has been in the travel industry for more than 30 years, said she had become familiar with Exoticca after booking trips with the operator for her clients. She will take up her new role on Monday (17 August).
"Their diverse range of tours are fantastic value for money and extremely agent friendly," she said. "The fact they offered price parity was extremely important to me. It's an exciting brand which is growing significantly and I'm delighted to be able to be part of that growth.
"I am really looking forward to meeting and supporting agents, building strong relationships and helping to get Exoticca to the forefront of their minds. Ultimately, I'm hoping to make a real difference by increasing awareness, engagement and sales within the trade and becoming a trusted partner for agents."
Earlier this month, Sealy set out how he planned to restructure Exoticca's trade operation following 300% year-on-year growth in B2B sales.
Vaughan will work alongside existing BDMs Richard Hey and Michelle Thake, who currently look after agents in the north and the south respectively.
However, Exoticca will split its southern region into two – with one BDM taking responsibility for the West Midlands, South Wales and the South West, and the other the East Midlands and South East, including London.
These regions will sit alongside Exoticca's existing northern region and Vaughan's Scotland and Northern Ireland brief.
Sealy previously said he hoped to have both new BDMs in place by the end of September.
