Turkey has moved to reassure the trade that tourism is "proceeding as normal" despite the crisis in the Middle East, urging agents to continue promoting the destination as "reliable and high-value" as peak summer approaches.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, alongside the Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), said all resorts, hotels and experiences across the country’s key tourist hotspots are continuing to operate as normal.

Tourism chiefs stressed there have been no closures, disruptions or government-imposed restrictions affecting tourism activity anywhere in the country, with all major resorts and holiday regions also functioning as expected.

Air access, too, remains unaffected, with all UK and Ireland flights to and from Turkey operating on schedule.
