Mason, a copywriter at Cirencester-based Steppes Travel, received the award at the Institute of Travel & Tourism's Summer Party at the Houses of Parliament on 21 July. The accolade, part of the ITT Future You Awards, recognises an individual who has driven diversity, equality and inclusion within their organisation, the wider industry or education.
Alongside her copywriting role, Mason has become a prominent advocate for improving the travel experience for neurodivergent people, highlighting barriers including sensory overload, unclear information, communication differences and concerns around disclosing access requirements.
