Wendy Wu Tours will assign dedicated business development managers to Scotland and the North West, and has also appointed its first national account manager.
Until now, the two regions have been managed as a single territory, covering 50% of the UK. Recruitment is under way for two new roles after the operator recorded a 35% uplift in sales from the north and Scotland, outpacing its national average increase of 20%.
The new BDMs will spearhead regional campaigns aligned to local departure airports, replicating Wendy Wu’s Irish model using bespoke flight-inclusive offers.
Meanwhile, the operator has appointed Sandra Foreman – a long-time member of the brand's trade team – to a newly national account manager role, its first.
Foreman has been with the company since 2019, and is credited with doubling the size of Wendy Wu Tours' number one UK account over the past five years.
"With her strong background in retail travel, she brings a deep understanding of frontline agents’ needs as well as the commercial landscape, making her ideally placed to lead on national campaigns," the operator said.
In her new role, Foreman will provide a single point of contact for key accounts.
Gary King, Wendy Wu's head of trade sales, added: “Without our trade partners, there is no Wendy Wu Tours. Agents have fuelled the biggest growth in our history – and this expansion is for them, by them. A bigger team means more support, and more support means more sales.”
